YAUWANE

Amidst the complications of the Covid-19 pandemic and Sri Lanka’s economic and political crisis, Yauවණේ marked a milestone for AnandaDrama as its first production to fully sell out its first reception and tour the country.

 

A timely problem play that explores the impact of Sri Lanka’s economic and political crisis on its youth, Yauවණේ was first staged at the Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre on 13th and 14th August. With full houses at every show, Yauවණේ was taken on tour as a response to a continuing demand for the play.

 

On tour, Yauවණේ was staged in Kandy on the 28th of August at the Kandy Cultural Center; in Galle on 3rd September at Hall De Galle; and had its final staging in Colombo on 11th September at the Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre to another full house.
