AnandaDrama was established in 2013 and incorporated as a non profit Company Limited by Guarantee on 3rd July 2014.

Board of Directors

Sanjiva Senanayake

An independent non-executive Director of several prominent companies in Sri Lanka, Sanjiva Senanayake previously worked at the International Finance Corporation and at several leading banks in Sri Lanka and abroad. He holds an MSc in Communication Engineering from Imperial College, University of London, and a BSc from King’s College, University of London.

Thilak Karunaratne

A former Chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, Thilak Karunaratne is a past President of the Old Boys’ Association of Ananda College and a former President of the Alumni Association of the University of Colombo. A former Parliamentarian, he was the first General Secretary of the JHU and formerly a Treasurer of the UNP. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Colombo.

Deva Rodrigo

A past Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and former Senior Partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Sri Lanka and Maldives, Deva Rodrigo is currently a non-executive Director in several leading public companies. A former Deputy President of the Old Boys’ Association of Ananda College, he has also held many public appointments.  He is a Chartered Accountant by profession.

Prashantha Lal de Alwis

A President’s Counsel and a non executive Director at several leading companies, Prashantha Lal de Alwis has held several prominent public appointments. He obtained his LL.B and an LL.M from the University of Colombo and is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Old Boys Association of Ananda College.

Nishantha de Silva

After helping reestablish the Drama Circle of Ananda College in 2006, Nishantha de Silva acted as its volunteer coach and director until 2017, founding AnandaDrama in 2013. He currently leads Kehelmala, a creative start-up, and was also the founding Chairman of the national Debaters’ Council. He holds an MSt from Oxford University, an MPhil from Cambridge University, and a Fellowship in Directing from Trinity College London, UK.
